I think it could be powerful, re-presenting and re-imagining Bond and his origin for the modern era in the Ultimate style. But as I've commented, anything to take a risk or two and reinvigorate the franchise would be welcome.
For the record, I've never actually read any of the Fleming Bonds.

For the moment, I have to go with:
1. Honor Blackman
2. Diana Rigg
3. Claudine Auger
There's what appears to be a complete list here. On scanning the list, I'm struck by how forgettable most of the recent Bond girls have been--with the exception of Rosamund Pike.

Okay, you guys are all whacked in your Bond girl proclivities. By far the hottest Bond girl so far has been Sophie Marceau as Elektra King in The World Is Not Enough. Perhaps you were all thrown by the fact that she's inexplicably omitted from the (otherwise) comprehensive list at the Bond Girl site to which jwb refers.
Don't believe me? Check out Sophie's homage website at: http://librenet.50webs.com/francais/sexe/sophie_marceau/
Also, be sure not to miss the clip of her 'wardrobe malfunction' at Cannes near the bottom of the page.
My other personal favourite Bond Girls:
- Maryam D'Abo as Kara Milovy in The Living Daylights
- Denise Richards as Christmas Jones in The World Is Not Enough

Hey, by the way, how do I get one of those nifty icons to appear with my posts?
